From Light to Dark: A Kitchen Transformation! We're thrilled to share one of our recent kitchen redesigns that breaks from the current trend of all-white kitchens! Our clients decided to buck the trend and transform their white, dated kitchen into a rich, chocolate-toned space that exudes warmth and sophistication.
The original kitchen featured the widespread white cabinetry that has dominated design for years. While beautiful, it lacked the personality and depth our clients craved. We took a bold step by installing custom cabinetry in a deep Chocolate Glazed tone that immediately transformed the space.
What makes this kitchen truly exceptional goes beyond aesthetics. We integrated several smart storage solutions that today's homeowners want:
Pull-out pantry drawers that allow full visibility and easy access to dry goods, eliminating the frustration of forgotten items pushed to the back of deep shelves.
A dedicated pull-out spice rack adjacent to the cooking area, keeping seasonings organized and within reach while freeing up valuable counter space.
An oversized undercounter lazy susan in the corner cabinet that maximizes what would otherwise be awkward storage space, providing effortless access to pots, pans, and appliances.
The darker cabinets bring unexpected benefits: they ground the space, hide everyday wear better than white ever could, and create a perfect backdrop for Old World Bronze Finish pulls that now truly pop. We maintained balance by replacing the countertops with a stunning Blue Dream quartz, while Marshmallow by Sherwin Williams on the walls creates an airy feeling.
The new porcelain flooring in Phoenix Sand (12x24 format) ties everything together, while the 8x8 ceramic backsplash by Merola Tile adds visual interest and texture.
What we love most about this project is how it reminds us that design should reflect personal taste rather than just following trends. Sometimes going in the opposite direction—while incorporating practical solutions—creates the most memorable and functional spaces!
